Jockey Christophe Soumillon has been ruled out of the Longines International Races at Sha Tin on Sunday.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club has not allowed Soumillon to ride in the high-profile meetings as he has yet to receive an “unconditional release” from his recent Covid-19 quarantine period.
It was set to be a busy weekend for Soumillon as he was preparing to take part in the four Group One features in Hong Kong, along with riding in five other supporting races.
A HKJC statement read: “The Hong Kong Jockey Club has been informed by Christophe Soumillon that he has been requested by the Department of Health to undergo further Covid-19 tests.
“It is unknown at this stage when the testing will be completed and when Soumillon will be released from quarantine.”
Ryan Moore will now step in to fill the void aboard Admire Mars in the Hong Kong Mile, while Zac Purton has been given the task of partnering Japanese runner Normcore in the Cup.
