I was all over Tegerek for the Greatwood Hurdle so it will be sods law if he goes and wins today when I desert him. I’m deserting him for SARASOTA STAR who looks to be on a steep upward trajectory after two wins at Carlisle. He goes under a penalty today but Rex Dingle negates some of that burden and I hope he hasn’t quite found his ceiling just yet. He was mightily impressive in his first victory at Carlisle but he had to do it the hard way the last day as he only got up in the shadows of the post. I think he is worth more than the winning distance and I expect him to go close for Martin Keighley and his team who are no strangers to Cheltenham success.
HENRI LE BON was a big eye catcher at Leicester on his return, travelling like the winner before tiring as his connections probably expected him to. That race has actually worked out very well and the fact he was able to travel with them is a big positive. He has it all to do today up against some well handicapped rivals and his odds suggest that but I’m always willing to take a punt and trust my instinct so I’m hopeful of a good run.
Cheltenham 12.40 – Sarasota Star
Doncaster 3.25 – Henri Le Bon
