Trainer Gordon Elliott claims he has two options in mind for Samcro after pulling his runner out of action at Punchestown on Sunday.
The dual Cheltenham Festival winner was set to feature in the John Durkan Memorial Chase but the going at Punchestown was deemed to be too testing for the eight-year-old.
After the disappointment of the weekend, handler Elliott says there are options at Leopardstown and Thurles to be looked at for Samcro and his next outing this month.
“We might look at Leopardstown at Christmas for the Savills Chase – the ground could be better there,” said Elliott.
“The Kinloch Brae at Thurles is another option.”
Samcro started off 2020 with victory at the Cheltenham Festival in March, landing the Group 1 Marsh Novices’ Chase, before following that effort up with a third-place finish at Down Royal at the end of October.
