Willie Mullin’s Min won the John Durkan Chase for the third time at Punchestown, fending off a late charge from Tornado Flyer.
The Grade 1 race proved to be the final one of the day after officials decided to abandon the meeting due to thick fog.
In poor visibility, the experienced nine-year-old finished ahead of Tornado Flyer, with Melon rounding out the top three, giving Mullins the first three home in the 2m4f chase.
Chris’s Dream and Battleoverdoyen, who were both fancied to perform well heading into the race, were both well down the order along with Allaho, while Le Richebourg was pulled up.
Viewers on television were struggling to make out much of the race and officials elected to cancel the final four races of the day.
Min has now won seven races at Grade 1 level and will next be in action on December 27 at Leopardstown in the Paddy’s Rewards Club Steeplechase.
He is also a likely runner in the Ryanair Chase at Cheltenham in March.
