I will be very surprised if MUSE OF FIRE isn’t able to win off his current mark now sent chasing. He makes his debut over the larger obstacles today at Ludlow and connections will be hoping he can start repaying his price tag. Bought out of the point to point field for a hefty sum, he has hinted at ability in his qualifying runs over hurdles but there is no doubt his future lies over fences. He has a very fair opening mark and although I can’t be supremely confident he will win today on chase debut, I am very confident that he is better than his current mark. Watch this space.
I couldn’t believe my luck last night as MARADA opened up at 11/2. I made her favourite in my mind so backed her accordingly and she has since been cut into 2/1 favourite as I write this. Dan Skelton‘s mare has won 2 novice hurdles already this term with the minimum of fuss and I’d say connections will be plenty happy enough with her opening mark. She gets a good bit of weight off all her rivals today and should be suited to the sharp nature of the Ludlow track.
