JP McManus‘ racing manager Frank Berry has been tight-lipped on who will train the owner’s new acquisition Jonbon.
Jonbon burst onto the scene when winning a point-to-point by 15 lengths last weekend and the full-brother to Douvan has now been sold for £570,000 to McManus.
Having become the most expensive point-to-pointer ever sold at public auction, connections are deciding who will handle this highly-rated four-year-old going forward.
Berry claims that he doesn’t know where Jonbon will end up in terms of stables as he looks to build on that point-to-point success.
“I’ve been tied up most of the day so I don’t know much about it other than he (McManus) bought him,” said Berry.
“I haven’t discussed anything with anyone (about where he might go) so at the moment I’ve no idea.”
