I like the look of today’s racing but the majority of my fancies are short. Legends Ryde, Kilmington Rose & Sporting John are all pretty short so I can’t tip them all but one shorty who I really think is a goody is ORDERED LIVES. Fergal O’Brien’s mare was heavily backed in what looked a hot Ffos Las bumper on debut and was given a lovely introductory ride that day from Mr P Brennan. Held up out the back she made headway all the way up the straight and although she couldn’t quite reel the leaders in, she certainly showed she had plenty of ability.
At first glance I thought this looked a good bumper and given the first two home have both made winning hurdling debuts this week I would say it was certainly an above average bumper. Fergal now sends her all the way to Ayr and at just over even money last night, she looked banker material.
For those of you who don’t like backing shorties, please don’t click off this link, I have one for you too. Kevin Brogan is in sensational form at the moment and in my view is absolutely stealing 5lbs off other jockeys as he rides as good as the pros. He is jocked up on THE COMPOSEUR at Exeter today and he looks to have a great chance of gaining further glory. Just touched off at Ludlow last time off, he looks like a horse who isn’t too far away from doubling his tally over hurdles. Jonjo O’Neill likes to take the slow approach with some of his point to point recruits and more often than not, they develop into really nice animals. This lad looks no different and I’m excited to see what he can do today.
