Hollie Doyle is relishing the opportunity to test herself on American soil next week when she partners Mighty Gurkha in the Breeders’ Cup.
Doyle has enjoyed another fine campaign after breaking her own record for the most winners in a calendar year by a female jockey.
The 24-year-old picked up two victories at Ascot on Champions Day, including a first triumph at Group One level, and she is hoping to continue that form in the US.
She is booked for rides at Newmarket and Kempton over the weekend before heading off to Kentucky to link up with the Archie Watson-trained Mighty Gurkha.
Doyle said: “I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve always wanted to ride at the Breeders’ Cup – it’s a massive occasion and a good opportunity after a good year.
“I’ve ridden a winner in Qatar before, but I’ve never even ridden in America apart from trackwork.”
Mighty Gurkha and Doyle will battle it out with 23 rivals in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint on November 6.
