Connections of Kameko have confirmed he will head straight to next month's Breeders' Cup meeting, rather than competing at Ascot.
The three-year-old silenced his critics last month when he won the Joel Stakes at Newmarket ahead of Regal Reality.
Andrew Balding's charge had finished fourth in his previous three outings in the Derby, Sussex Stakes and Juddmonte International.
Balding and his team had eyed the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on Qipco British Champions Day, but the ground is likely to be soft, and he will instead head straight to the Breeders' Cup Mile at Keeneland on November 7.
Confirming their plans, David Redvers, racing manager to owners Qatar Racing, said: “Having spoken to Chris Stickels at lunchtime he said the ground at Ascot is soft, heavy in places and only a shower away from being heavy, soft in places.
“In that regard, we didn't want to risk a good-actioned horse like Kameko on Saturday. We would prefer to tackle Palace Pier at the Breeders' Cup, where we are considering running him in the mile.”
