Today is a really good day of racing in my view but there isn’t a lot that I can convince myself to have a punt on so I’ve put up one sceptical tip. The finale at Wetherby looks a prep run for most of these and quite a few have big absences to overcome so I think RUNNING D’OR could play a part at a big price on British debut.
Tom Symonds spent £100,000 on this French Listed winner earlier in the year and although an opening mark of 139 looks stiff, it could still be workable. She clearly has ability as French Listed races aren’t easy to win and with James Nixon taking a handy 5lb off she might just surprise a few today. When you spend that sort of money on a horse I wouldn’t expect connections to consent to getting her dropped a few pounds with a few quiet runs so I do expect a big effort.
