With rain anticipated to batter the country
over the coming days I urge readers to consider potential ground changes before
placing their bets today. This is particularly relevant to my first tip, FERROBIN, who is a good ground
specialist and wouldn’t want it too soft at Bangor.
I
live about an hour away from Bangor and we are due a fair soaking tomorrow so
by 4.30pm I may be cashing out my stake on the selection, if he is still
running that is. But, if Bangor somehow misses out on the rain then I think he
has a very good chance of winning. His form got a good boost yesterday when
Teqany went in again after previously finishing in front of the selection at
Newton Abbot. The two pulled clear that day and given Ferrobin was operating
off a mark in 130’s just over a year ago, I think he is well handicapped off
117.
Down
at Kempton, the weather shouldn’t affect things too much so I can punt a bit
more freely. I was impressed with INTREPIDLY
last time out over course and distance and the race has worked out well. He
carried very little weight that day which may have aided his cause. He has to
lump top weight today but remains on the same mark so theoretically shouldn’t
bother him but some horses do prefer running off a lighter weight. Peter
Charalambous doesn’t waste his entries and I fancy this one to put up a bold
show.
Bangor On Dee 4.30 – Ferrobin – 1pt win
Kempton 6.30 – Intrepidly – 1pt e/w
