Art Power set for Ascot return

Trainer Tim Easterby has confirmed that star sprinter Art Power is being lined up for a return to next month.

The three-year-old colt was last seen at the Berkshire venue when winning in handicap company at the Royal meeting in June.

That victory represented Art Power’s fourth win in five starts, although the success was followed up with a disappointing sixth-place finish when he was well fancied in last month’s Nunthorpe at .

The grey son of Dark Angel looked in better shape when finishing fourth on his last outing in the Sprint Cup at last month and Easterby is now aiming his stable star at the upcoming Group One British Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot on October 17.

“He’s in good shape ? he came out of Haydock well,” Easterby was quoted as saying by TV.

“I was very happy with how he ran at Haydock and it will be Ascot next for him, all being well.”

Easterby also feels we are yet to see the very best of Art Power and he is tipping the colt to go from strength-to-strength next year.

“He’ll be a better horse next year as he’s still got some strengthening up to do,” the Yorkshire handler added.
