Hannon expecting Happy Romance to shine at Goodwood

says Happy Romance should handle the step up in trip when she runs in the Ladbrokes Prestige Stakes at .

The two-year-old is seen as the joint-favourite for the race with punters believing Happy Romance and Pomelo will fight it out in the final stages.

Happy Romance has already earned close to £200,000 in prize-money this season after winning at and .

On her last outing in Group company, the daughter of Dandy Man finished fifth at Royal but Hannon is optimistic she will handle the seven-furlong trip.

He told reporters: “She is in great nick, but this is obviously quite a smart race. I don’t think going seven furlongs will worry her, and I always thought she would get it as she is quite relaxed. She actually hit a flat spot in the six-furlong race at York the other day.

“I think she should be fine just over a week after racing at York, but you never know until a furlong left to run. This is a nice opportunity for her to get some black type, and that is the idea.

“I don’t think the track will be a problem for her as she is a well-balanced filly and is very straightforward.”

Hannon will also run Thank You Next, while Isabella Giles, Prado and Seattle Rock complete the field.
