Oisin Murphy won’t be able to ride at next month’s Partemps St Leger Festival after being handed a seven-day ban.
Flat racing‘s Champion Jockey steered Tiritomba to a two-and-a-quarter-length victory in the Shadwell Stud Maiden Stakes at Ayr on Monday.
However, he caught the attention of the stewards after drifting across the path of second-placed Ricksen and has now been slapped with a seven-day ban.
Murphy’s ban comes into effect from September 7 and runs through to September 13, therefore, ruling him out of Doncaster‘s four-day showpiece.
The Irishman is currently 18 winners clear of Tom Marquand in the jockeys’ championship.
