Leading trainer Charlie Appleby says Ghaiyyath is fit and raring to go ahead of the Juddmonte International at York on Wednesday.
The son of Dubawi ended last season a flat performance in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in October, failing to follow up his 14-length win in a German Group One just before the French Classic.
However, Ghaiyyath has answered the critics in emphatic style with some very accomplished showings in 2020.
He opened the campaign with a commanding win at Meydan before claiming the rearranged Coronation Cup at Newmarket.
Ghaiyyath then beat superstar Enable at Sandown last month in the Eclipse and Appleby says connections are excited for the race at the Ebor Festival.
He told Racing TV: “All is good with Ghaiyyath. He’s been pretty faultless this season to date, and York has always been one of our targets.
“We wanted to go to the Coronation Cup, then onto the Eclipse and then to the Juddmonte International ? so far everything has gone according to plan.
“On the evidence of this season, he is the one they’ve all got to beat. The Juddmonte International is always a great spectacle, and it looks a very strong race, but I think they all have to come up to his level.”
