Gordon Elliott has declared six runners for Wednesday‘s Galway Plate with Davy Russell set to ride favourite Galvin.
Elliott has high hopes for Galvin after returning to action from a 119 day break with victory in the BoyleSports Chase at Killarney earlier this month.
The six-year-old’s chances of living up to market expectations have been boosted by the news that Russell, who won this race with Balko Des Flos in 2017, will be on board.
Three Musketeers, The Big Lense, Dinons and The Storyteller also go off in the 18:45, a 2m 6f 111y contest, for Elliott, while Mighty Stowaway is second reserve.
Willie Mullins also has a six-strong squad with Easy Game, Royal Rendezvous, Robin Des Foret, Cabaret Queen, Livelovelaugh and Blazer hoping to scoop the ?120,000 top prize.
Prolific winner Peregrine Run represents Peter Fahey’s sole hope, while Jett, who came home fourth in the Irish Gold Cup, runs for Jessica Harrington.
