Andrew Balding says his intention is to send Khalifa Sat to next week's Gordon Stakes at Goodwood.
The son of Free Eagle caused a surprise earlier this month as he came second behind the brilliant Serpentine in The Derby, kicking on from his reappearance win in June's Cocked Hat Stakes.
That was Khalifa Sat's second win at Goodwood having claimed his maiden at the track in September 2019 and the plan is for him to return to Sussex where he will aim to make it a hat-trick of wins at the venue.
Balding admits he is enjoying having the three-year-old around and is confident he will be ready to go again, this time in Group Three company.
“There's a possibility he could run in the Gordon Stakes at Goodwood next week, depending on how he comes through a bit of work later in the week,” he said.
“He's well, and the Gordon Stakes would be the intention. He's just a lovely horse to have in the yard.”
