Host a virtual derby for Marie Curie

If you are bored of
quizzing and looking for something new to entertain you, then why not hold a
virtual race night for Marie Curie. It is a great way to stay connected with
family and friends, whilst raising money for terminally ill patients and their
families.

Kelly Combe & Donna
Affleck, of Bilston, Scotland held their own virtual horse raising event
raising a fantastic £150. Kelly said, “It was a day full of fun, friends,
fascinators & fundraising! My husband found 10 old races on YouTube and
shared them on a zoom chat. Each person paid £10 to enter and the day before my
sister sent out everyone's individual horse numbers for each race. We also had
prizes for best dressed & best backdrop!'

Marie Curie provides care
and support for people who are dying or living with a terminal illness, as well
as their loved ones, caring for people both with and without coronavirus. Just
at the time Marie Curie services are needed more than ever as part of the
coronavirus response, our income has been decimated.

Marie Curie's Community Fundraiser, Holly Carey said: ‘With back on but behind
closed doors, it's ideal entertainment for a night in. Being able to ditch your
comfy clothes and finally have a reason to put on something fancy is definitely
appealing and will add to the race day spirit!'

‘Although life
may be beginning to start up again for people with a terminal diagnosis, and
families devastated by loss, there's no going back. Our nurses, hospices and
Support Line have been here through it all, day and night, seven days a week,
caring for people with and without coronavirus. With your support we can
