Irish trainer Aidan O’Brien says jockey Ryan Moore has a tough decision to make ahead of the Investec Derby on Saturday.
The 50-year-old entered seven of his stable on Monday during the final declarations, but only six are expected to run this weekend.
O’Brien has talked up Mogul’s chances, but he also plans to send Russian Emperor, Vatican City, Armory, Serpentine, Mythical and Amhran Na Bhfiann.
Moore failed to shine at Royal Ascot earlier this month, but O’Brien believes he will be back to his best when he competes at Epsom.
O’Brien told the Racing Post: “I would say we will run five anyway, possibly six at Epsom. I’m not sure who Ryan [Moore] will ride yet. It’s not going to be an easy one for him, that’s for sure. He obviously has not been able to sit on them here so that will make it a bit harder for him.
“He will wait and see what draws each of them get and then we will discuss each of them individually after declaration time before he decides. It definitely won’t be easy this year.
“Mogul has progressed nicely since Ascot, as we knew he would. It was a big ask doing what we did and bringing him to Ascot first time. He has progressed plenty over the last couple of days and we’re very happy with him.”
