It’s a tough Monday today with not a lot jumping off the page at me. It’s certainly a day of quantity over quality but hopefully I have found a couple to give us a run our money.
First up is BOTTOM BAY who ran very well on season debut at Newcastle earlier this month. Michael Bell was quite keen on him that day despite being a big price and he ran full of promise until the lack of recent run perhaps told late on. Bell has given him plenty of time to get over those exertions and the step up in trip should suit. It’s an open race at Windsor today but the stable remains in good form and I’d be hopeful of a good showing.
PROUD ARCHI is starting to look very well in and a recent run would have blown away any cobwebs after 11 months off. He went close that day and would have probably won had he had a stronger pace to run at. This race represents a slight step down in grade and if able to back up his previous run I think he should be going close here.
Windsor 4.50 – Bottom Bay – 0.5pts e/w
Thirsk 8.00 – Proud Archi – 1pt win
