Teddy Grimthorpe has revealed Siskin is likely to head to Goodwood for the Sussex Stakes after opting out of Ascot.
The three-year-old further enhanced his reputation on Friday when beating Vatican City by one-and-three-quarter lengths to win the Irish 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh.
He was initially expected to get back to competitive action this Saturday in the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot, however, the quick turnaround put paid to those plans.
Racing manager to Prince Khalid Abdullah, Grimthorpe has confirmed The Sussex Stakes at Goodwood looks likely to be his next outing.
“Royal Ascot is obviously a bit too soon – the St James’s is eight days after the Irish Guineas,” Grimthorpe said.
“That leaves the option of the Sussex Stakes, provided Prince Khalid was happy. I think we’d look towards Goodwood, certainly.”
