Haggas confirms change of plans

has confirmed Born With Pride will swerve the Ribblesdale Stakes in favour of a tilt at the Queen’s Vase.

Five days of bumper action are set to get underway on and Born With Pride was expected to be involved on the opening day.

The three-year-old had been declared as a runner in the 14:25 Ribblesdale Stakes but Haggas feels conditions on are likely to be more favourable to his charge.

The ground is expected to be a bit softer later in the week and, therefore, Haggas has elected to switch the focus to the one-mile six furlong Queen’s Vase at 16:10.

Haggas said: “Born With Pride isn’t running in the Ribblesdale as she’s going for the Queen’s Vase. The forecast is a bit more unsettled and we’re hoping to get some rain by Friday.”
