NEWMARKET REPORT FROM DAVE YOUNGMAN

MORNING EVERYONE

IT was mighty hectic out on the gallops on Saturday as
trainers put the finishing touches to their Royal bound , I was out
there very early when the mist was still covering the heath. Roger Varian was
one of the first to appear with his string from Carlburg stables on the Bury
Road, a horse worth a mention from his yard is DARK LION, this juvenile
finished fourth on debut here on the Rowley Mile, he ran a nice race and would
have been a lot closer but for getting unbalanced running down into the dip,
his work Saturday showed he has come on for that race and a winning opportunity
will be found for him very soon.

had a nice team of workers out at the weekend and
ENABLE had a nice stretch on the Al Bahathri, she look full of enthusiasm still
for the game and will be ready for her clash with GHAIYYATH come the
Coral at . FRANKLY DARLING also went very nicely in her work and
is ready for her race this week at the Royal meeting. RICETTA a recent debut
winner showed how much she has progressed for that debut, she really picked up
the bit and went about her work on Saturday.

CHARLIE Appleby had PINATUBO working in steady fashion as the
son of Shamardal has not done a lot since his run in the Guineas, he has come
out of that run very well and is on course to try to get back to winning ways
on the final day of the Royal meeting in the St James Palace Stakes under
William Buick.

SAEED Bin Suroor had recent Guineas fourth MILITARY MARCH
breezing away in nice style without being asked to over do himself, he is now
very much on course for next month’s at and hopefully will go there
with a winning chance for Godolphin, the run in the Guineas has really brought
him on and he is improving all the time.

WILLIAM Haggas had a  busy morning out on the gallops with
his team and LIGHT REFRAIN continue to impress in her work with a wonderful
attitude and temperament, I am looking forward to her racecourse appearance
when she make her debut.

SIR Michael Stoute had in to ride work at the weekend
and Ryan got the leg up on HIGHEST GROUND and RANSOM, both colts worked very
well and are making steady progress. [email protected]
