Aidan O'Brien accepts that the rescheduling of racing may impact his horses but insists Arizona is still in good form ahead of the 2000 Guineas.
Of course, there has been no racing in Britain since March 17, but the schedule is set for the sport's resumption on Monday.
Plans for the runners have been changed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and O'Brien is aware that it does affect the horses.
O'Brien said: “The horses have been ticking over, but obviously every time you think you had a target and put a sight on it, the next thing the target moves and you have to change again, so it's a little bit tricky and horses do feel that.”
It will be interesting to see what happens next week with trainers no doubt able to learn how the time off the track has ultimately affected their charges.
However, there is not long before the first big race of the resumption, with the QIPCO 2000 Guineas set to take place next Saturday at Newmarket.
Pinatubo is the ante-post favourite for the colts' Classic but O'Brien appears quietly confident about his chances with Arizona.
He added: “Arizona is in good form, everything has gone well with him. Obviously we had our eye on the first weekend of May, but he seems to be in good form. He was getting ready for that, then we just eased back a little bit.
“He's a big, rangy, scopey horse and we always thought he would improve from two to three and it would suit him being a three-year-old. We'll see – he ran a very good race to win the Coventry and ran some very good races after that. We think he's ready to start.”
O'Brien has a fantastic record in the race, having saddled 10 winners, while he has won the last three thanks to Churchill, Saxon Warrior and Magna Grecia last year.
