EARLY starts are of paramount importance for anyone in racing
and it was a 5.30am start for me this morning out on the gallops, there is much
excitement and anticipation ahead of the anticipated return of racing at
Newcastle on June 1st and our first fixture of the season on the Rowley Mile
here at HQ early next month.
CHARLIE Appleby had PINATUBO out last weekend in steady work and
William Buick sat on him for the first time this year, today the son of
Shamardal did steady canter under Aaron Jones and providing there are no
problems he will line up for the Guineas on June 6th here at Newmarket.
CHARLIE Appleby had a bunch of unraced juveniles in nice work
including, DHAHABI,FABRIZIO,MAGICAL LAND, these three are lovely colts sired by
Frankel and are showing a lot of talent in their early work. Also worth a
mention in the Moulton Paddocks juvenile section are CREATIVE FORCE and ROYAL
TOUCH, both moved sharply in their work this morning.
TRAINER Ed Dunlop used the watered gallop where Adrian McCarthy
put the filly ZANKALA through her paces, the daughter of Zoffany looked to
really enjoy her work and look to have a bright future for the La Grange yard.
Kieren Fallon was seen to good effect on the unraced Frankel juvenile JOHN
LEEPER, assistant trainer, Jack Morland was in charge out on the gallops along
with head lad Gordon Storrie.
SAEED Bin Suroor had MILITARY MARCH in strong work and moved
well with the as yet unraced KHABAAB, the later a son of Teofilo is out of a
Dynaformer mare and on the style of his work will have no trouble winning his
maiden for the Godolphin outfit when unleashed onto the racecourse.
SIR Michael Stoute had a select team of workers out today in
including the unraced three-year-old named RANSOM, this son of Kingman is from
a good Juddmonte family and will be another winner for owner Prince Khalid
Abdullah this season, all I have seen of him in his work has done nothing but
impress me.
WE plan a SUPER SATURDAY out on the gallops here at Newmarket
later this week and I will bring you news of that early next week.
KEEP WELL EVERYONE [email protected]
