HELLO EVERYONE
IT was a very busy weekend here at Newmarket with trainers now
having a definite indication of when racing may well return, it is hoped to
have our first meeting here on the Rowley Mile weekend 23 – 24 later this
month, obviously, that would be behind closed doors, but it is so nice to see a
way forward for us all.
SIR Michael Stoute had a nice team of workers out at the weekend
including the four-year-old SANGARIUS who worked in sparkling fashion for the
Freemason Lodge team, this son of Kingman has stayed in training and is an
older horse that should develop further this season, his work recently has been
of the highest order out on the HQ gallops.
SAEED Bin Suroor had MILITARY MARCH working in impressive
fashion on the Limekilns and this fine colt quickened well clear of his
galloping companions in the style of a colt that is improving very fast.
ROGER Varion was out soon after 6am on Saturday and PIERRE LAPIN
in his work showed a fine turn of foot to go clear of his lead horse, this is a
colt full of class and coming along in leaps and bounds for the Carlburg yard.
JOHN Gosden had some unraced horses doing faster work including
the unraced DARAIN, this fill brother to Too Darn Hot was ridden in his work by
Oisin Murphy and strode out in very pleasing fashion. The stables unraced pair
NASRAAWY and TAQAREER also showed up very well in their work, both are owned by
Sheikh Hamdan and look most capable maidens.
WILLIAM Haggas had a large team out and SKARDU looked very
impressive in his work, the son of Shamardal has thrived and developed into a
lovely individual during the close season and look a fine prospect for the
Somerville Lodge outfit this year.
GEORGE Scott had a few juveniles doing sharp work and by far the
best was GREAT VIBES, this look a very nice early type for the Eve Lodge yard.
Keep well everyone, hopefully racing will return quite soon, we
will be ready for it here at Newmarket and will have our horses ready for it
all. daveyoungman@btinternet.com
