MORNING EVERYONE
IT was a very early 6.30am start on Saturday for
me out on the gallops here at Newmarket
and although a little chilly I am pleased to report having seen my first
swallow swooping across the heath in splendid style and some impressive horses
working.
OUT on the gallops there was plenty of action
with all trainers strings in work and looking very well. Roger Varian was one
of the first out with his string from Carlburg stables where ASCENSION worked
very well, this son of Dark Angel is owned by Highclere Thoroughbred Racing and
judged by his work here at Newmarket this morning has a good campaign ahead of
him this term.
JOHN Gosden had Frankel three-year-old FRANKLY
DARLING in strong work and showed it is coming to hand nicely, having spoken to
jockey Rob Havlin I can tell you the Clarehaven yard rider really rate this
horse and it look in for a good season.
WILLIAM and Mo Haggas had their team out early
and BORN WITH PRIDE showed what giant steps she has taken during the close
season, her work today showed her to be a very classy filly for the future.
TRAINER Charlie Fellowes had a nice team of
workers out from his Bedford House base and by far the most impressive mover
was the Motivator colt KING OTTOKAR, this colt owned by Susan Roy has made
great strides during the winter and look a real picture currently, his work
today was of a high class colt and the four-year-old look set for a sparkling
good season, Charlie can’t wait to get started with him.
