Halford has high hopes for Sinawann

Trainer Michael Halford says Sinawann is in good shape and is being lined up for a tilt at the Irish .

The two-year-old impressed in his debut campaign last year, opening up with a fifth-place finish at the in August before improving significantly to take the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden ahead of 15 rivals later that month.

Sinawann then impressed again when finishing second behind Mogul in the Group 2 KPMG Champions Juvenile Stakes at on Irish Champions Weekend and there are high hopes for 2020, once returns.

Halford has reported Sinawann is in fine fettle and is raring to go ahead of hopefully competing in the Irish 200 Guineas, which is still scheduled for May 23 as things stand.

Halford told Sporting Life: “He has had a good . He has done very well. He kept improving all last year. He only had three runs, that was all we wanted for him, and he improved with each of them. We always felt there was more to come from him.

He ran a really good race on his final run last season, to finish second to Mogul in the Group 2 KPMG Champions Juvenile Stakes at Leopardstown on Irish Champions Weekend.

“We're very happy with him now, he did a nice piece of work on morning, and the plan is to go for the Irish 2000 Guineas.”
