Simcock sees bright future for Pale King

Trainer David Simcock is confident Pale will reach his potential after the decision to sell him to new in .

The three-year-old was an impressive debut winner at in March and his performance under Jamie Spencer has been described as so good it was “arrogant” by new owner Rupert Legh.

Spencer held him at the back of the field before surging home to win by one-and-three-quarter-lengths from 's Faramman.

That attracted Legh and Simcock is backing the son of Dabirsim, who he says has the potential shine overseas for his new stable.

“He's been sold to go to Australia and I'm sure he'll be a very good acquisition for them,” he said.

“I would think he would keep on improving and I think he would be the sort to get quicker as well as he's a big, imposing horse.

“He was owned by a partnership and it's always sad to be losing these sort of .

“However, when the offer is right then part of the business is selling these horses on.”
