Our Man at NEWMARKET Dave Youngman with up to date news

MORNING EVERYONE

IT should have been our first day of our new season here
at today but lets hope we get racing again when it is safe to do so,
everyone is raring to go, all the look in great order and our Limekiln
gallops will be opening up quite soon, after such a mild I don't think I
have seen them looking so good in all the years I have been here at Newmarket.

WILLIAM Knight will soon be moving to HQ to train out of Rathmoy
on the Road and he will get a very warm welcome along with his family,
he spent time here as assistant to Ed Dunlop for five years so he know the
gallops well, he will start with 50 horses and I know he will do very well.

TWO new trainers to set up here at HQ are Joe Parr and Terry
Kent, they are sharing Frankland Lodge on the Hamilton Road after leasing it
from Linda Payne, both have some nice horses and will do alright.

LIGHT REFRAIN is a lovely 2-year-old owned by the Queen trained
by at Somerville Lodge, this daughter of is out of the
mare Light Music and was a January foal, everything I have seen of her suggest
she will be a very nice type when she is introduced to the racecourse later
this year.

SENITA and ZAGALO are two very nice looking Frankel 2-year-old
colts in the string I like the look of at this early stage and they
are both cantering away nicely, Senita is the more forward as he was a January
foal as against Zagalo who was foaled on April 15. Both will do very well for
the Clarehaven yard.

SIMON Crisford has a lovely juvenile Bay Colt by Kingman out of
Rizeena owned by Rabbah Bloodstock, it has not been named yet but is starting
to show much promise in it's early work at Gainsborough Stables.

I had the joy of walking the whole of the Rowley Mile racecourse
here at Newmarket recently and as you see from my photo the course is in
excellent condition, we will be ready when racing resumes once again and will
be making up for lost time. Looking at all of the as yet unraced horses I feel
we have some of the nicest juveniles for years.

Stay safe and well everyone.
