Ocean Wind set for Flat switch

Trainer Roger Teal has revealed Ocean Wind will be given an opportunity to show what he can do on the Flat.

So far, Ocean Wind has had four starts over jumps and the results have been impressive, with victories at and coming either side of a runner-up finish at in the first three runs.

Those displays led to a trip to Prestbury Park in March for the and the four-year-old was entered into the Weatherbys Champion Bumper at Cheltenham, where he ended up sixth.

Despite not challenging for the win, there were several positives to take from that run, and Teal has now confirmed the plan is to give Ocean Wind a chance to impress on the Flat.

“He's gone away on holiday and will be coming back soon. We're hoping we'll give him a bit of a go on the Flat and see what he's like,” he was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

“Like a few of them he's very exciting, he's done us the world of good and if he's got the pace for the Flat he could be very exciting in those staying races. If not, we can go back novice hurdling with him.”
