Cheveley Park Stud Managing Director Chris Richardson has admitted having Cheltenham stars Ferny Hollow and Envoi Allen on their books is a dream come true.
Both horses triumphed on the second day of the Cheltenham Festival last month, Envoi Allen taking the Ballymore Novices Hurdle to extend his brilliant winning run to eight, before Ferny Hollow claimed the Weatherbys Champion Bumper.
It was a day to remember for everyone associated with the duo and they’re both expected to be back at Prestbury Park next year as they go for more glory.
Ferny Hollow is set to be aimed at the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, while Envoi Allen could go in the Champion Hurdle, although plans remain far from being finalised at this stage.
Richardson knows he has two star performers on his hands who are playing their own part in the ongoing Cheveley Park success story.
He told Racing TV: “Envoi Allen is quite an intelligent horse and he only does enough. He looks after himself and keeps impressing.
“On the other hand Ferny Hollow has had to be cajoled somewhat, but he is mentally much sharper now and he’s only five and so there’s still plenty to come.
“We have to pinch ourselves at having two horses of that calibre.”
