has enjoyed more Grade 1 success after Addeybb claimed victory in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick.

The six-year-old, who won the Ranvet Stakes in Sydney just a few weeks ago, showed a fantastic turn of speed to see off his rivals under Tom Marquand, clinching the win by two-and-three-quarter lengths.

Trainer Haggas couldn't be there to enjoy the victory but was delighted and described Addeybb's display as “fantastic” and hailed the the jockey Marquand for giving him a “lovely ride”.

Haggas admitted: “It's a great thrill for him to get a couple of Group 1s on the board, especially while everything is so quiet over here. It looked really good and he looked pretty dominant today.”

The -based trainer feels the UK-type weather in Sydney helped his charge's cause and is hoping now that it won't be too long until racing in the UK returns, after the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking to the Racing Post, Haggas added: “It's very frustrating but you only need to look at the news to see that our little bubble is not really that relevant. I hope we'll get going some time in May and it will be pretty frantic to start with, but I hope the country can get back to some sort of normality, never mind racing.”
