Anthony Honeyball is already considering an assault on next year's Mares Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, with his charge Coquelicot.
Despite the enforced early end to the jumps season, the Dorset-based trainer enjoyed a successful campaign with 38 winners and can now fully focus on his plans for 2021 National Hunt action.
Coquelicot is one of his standout horses, highlighted by her victory in a Listed bumper at Kempton in March – her third bumper success in a row – and there are big hopes for the four-year-old.
Next year's Cheltenham Festival is already the target for the Coquelicot, who has never finished outside the top two in her five starts to date.
Honeyball revealed: “She's been doing everything beautifully. We'll work back from that Cheltenham race [Mares Novices' Hurdle], until she proves otherwise.
“She's got the pedigree, stays well, has a hell of an engine and I think she can put it up to the best of them in the division. I'll leave her as fresh as I can, and dream to get her there. I've got massive faith in her.”
Novice chaser Sam Brown is another of the Honeyball stable that has real potential, with some feeling the eight-year-old could be a top-class prospect, especially after winning two races – at Lingfield and Haydock – in 11 days in January.
