Kimberlite Candy ready for Aintree

Trainer Tom Lacey is so pleased with the current form of Kimberlite Candy that he is sending him straight to the Grand without another run.

The owned eight-year-old won the Chase at last time out, a win which saw him go up 10lb to a mark of 150.

Lacey says he is in great condition and does not need another run before the showpiece on April 4th.

“He's in great nick. He's fresh and well and will go straight to Aintree,” Lacey told Sky.

“I don't think we'll go for a racecourse gallop. We'll prepare him at home.”We'll see whether he goes to jump an Aintree-style fence. He jumped well round Aintree the last day.”

Kimberlite Candy already has experience of the Aintree fences when finishing second to Walk In The Mill in the Becher Chase back in December.
