Trainer Charlie Appleby has revealed James Doyle will be riding at Doncaster this weekend instead of jetting out to Dubai.
Doyle was expected to partner Dubai Gold Cup fancy Ispolini at Meydan on Saturday evening but has been unable to make the weight, with the four-year-old gelding due to carry 8st 9lb.
Instead, the jockey, who landed the Darley Irish Oaks on Sea Of Class last July, will now head to Doncaster for the Lincoln Handicap and will ride the favourite Auxerre.
Confirming the switch, Appleby, who trains both horses, said: “James couldn’t do the weight on Ispolini in the Dubai Gold Cup at Meydan so Brett Doyle is going to ride that one.
“James will be riding Auxerre in the Lincoln and he will be replacing Adam Kirby who was originally booked.”
