Kayley Woollacott is approaching the climax of her first full season as a National Hunt trainer after taking over the license from her husband, Richard, who took his own life in January 2018.
Having guided their stable star, Lalor, to a debut win over fences in their first outing of the campaign at the Cheltenham November Meeting, all roads now lead to the 2019 Cheltenham Festival, where Lalor will arrive among the favourites for the Grade 1 Arkle Challenge Trophy.
In part three of our documentary, we talk to the breeder who first discovered Lalor in Germany and the bloodstock agent that sold him to Richard Woollacott about their early experiences of the horse.
We also talk to Kayley, her sister Steph, champion jockey Richard Johnson and the horse’s owner David Staddon about their final Cheltenham preparations and what it would mean to everybody involved if he can land the prize.
