Jockey William Buick feels Quorto could be a real contender for the Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes at the Curragh.
Quorto has two wins from two starts, both of them coming at Newmarket, and connections are looking to move him on quickly.
Buick hopes the Charlie Appleby-trained two-year-old can match the exploits or sire Dubawi by backing up a victory at Newmarket with a win at the Curragh on September 16.
“He’s had a nice break since the Superlative and on the racecourse he?s done nothing wrong,” Buick said.
“I thought he was impressive in the Superlative [Stakes at Newmarket], obviously he’s very well bred and he looks the part.
“Obviously it’s a bit early to say exactly what he will be against, but he’s a very exciting horse and he’s done everything right.
“He has a lot of speed and so far he’s done everything his father has done in going to the National, and if he can be as good as his father then we?ll be okay.”
