Trainer Charlie Hills believes Equilateral can claim a maiden Group One win in the the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot.
Equilateral is stepping up to Group One for the first time and has two wins from three career outings so far.
The three-year-old finished last at York in September, having been the pre-race joint favourite, but it was revealed he was injured after that race.
“He does remind me a lot of Equiano [sire], especially the way he gets his head down and gallops,” Hills told At The Races.
“His work has been very good and I’m very excited about running him on Friday.
“I regret running him at York because I had the Middle Park in my mind, but I wanted to get another race into him. He had a sore shin and wasn’t quite right so we had to forget the season.
“He went back to Juddmonte and spent the winter there, but he did well through the winter and here we are today.”
