Trainer Fergal O’Brien says Creevytennant is in “great form” but he doesn’t know how the 14-year-old will handle Stratford.
Creevytennant is set to contest the racinguk.com/freetrial Handicap Hunters’ Chase on Friday night and is rated as the favourite, having claimed a victory at regular stomping ground Perth last month.
The race will be the first time Creevytennant has raced left-handed since being pulled up in the Cheltenham Foxhunter five years ago, and O’Brien admits there are a few unknowns regarding his charge ahead of the 8.25 at Stratford.
“We’ve been forced to run him left-handed and he has got a lot of weight, but he’s in great form and his owner Mrs Duncan can go to watch him,” he said.
“He won very well at Perth last time and the third, Kilbree Kid, has come out and won since.
“How he will handle Stratford I don’t know but Perth is to his advantage with some of the fences on an angle and he gains a length jumping them there.”
