Warren Greatrex is backing Missed Approach to show his class in next Saturday’s bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown.
The eight-year-old is well-fancied in the betting and has enjoyed a fine season over the jumps, most recently winning the Kim Muir at Cheltenham.
Greatrex has been mulling over his options for his next run and feels a first career outing at Sandown will be perfect for his charge.
“He’s done really well and came out of the race great,” Greatrex told Racing UK. “I just feel the jumping that you need to produce at Sandown will suit him.
“Everyone’s gone to Ayr, Punchestown or Aintree, and I just felt it was worth waiting.
“That (Grand National) will be the plan next year, all being well.”
