Katie Walsh says she is relishing the prospect of having another crack at Randox Health Grand National glory on Baie Des Iles.
Trained by Walsh’s husband Ross O’Sullivan, Baie Des Iles finished third in his last outing when bidding for back-to-back wins in a Grand National trial at Punchestown in February.
Now 66/1 to claim a famous win at Aintree next month, Walsh says she has been buoyed by Baie Des Iles’ recent performances and is hoping for a good ride in the feature race on Merseyside.
She said: “Ross was delighted with her run in Punchestown. She had a lot of weight in very heavy ground and ran a cracker.
“It was a lovely run and I wasn’t over-hard on her. She comes here off the back of that.
“It’s still a month away, so a lot can happen between here and then, but fingers crossed.”
