1- One For Arthur

One For Arthur is the Lucinda Russell trained Irish Thoroughbred racehorse who won the 2017 Grand National. He was the second horse trained in Scotland to get victory in the big race at Aintree.

One For Arthur started at odds of 14/1 in the 2017 Grand National which included Blaklion, Cause of Causes and Saint Are as well. Derek Fox who just returned from injury was the rider of One For Arthur. When 5 fences were remaining, Blaklion who was the 8/1 favourite was contesting Rogue Angel for the lead while Saint Are and Cause of Causes were not far behind. Blaklion was leading over Rogue Angel when two fences were remaining with Vieux Lion Rouge now in the third and One For Arthur making significant improvements.

One For Arthur was just behind Blaklion by the second last fence with Cause of Causes and Gas Line Boy also in close competition. However, One For Arthur soon took the lead and won by 4½ lengths to grab the 2017 Grand National title while Cause of Causes and Saint Are come in second and third positions respectively.

2- Rule The World

The Mouse Morris trained Rule the World won the 2016 Grand National as a novice. He was unable to win in 8 attempts in his first season though he managed to finish second in five of the races. He performed very well as a staying hurdler and won the Slaney Novice Hurdle (2013) and the Limestone Lad Hurdle (2014).

He started at 33/1 outsider for the 2016 Grand National in which Many Clouds, and Shutthefrontdoor were also included. Rule The World remained behind the leaders for most of the way surviving a mistake during the race as well. He was third at the last fence, however he soon took the lead at the elbow. He extended that lead further and won the race by 6 lengths with The Last Samuri in second and Vics Canvas in third.

3- Many Clouds

Many Clouds was the famous Irish Thoroughbred racehorse who won the 2015 Grand National. He also won the 2014 Hennessy as well as the Cotswold Chase of 2015 and 2017. The Hennessy Gold Cup victory came in the same season when he won the Grand National making him the first horse to acheive such a feat.

Many Clouds was starting at odds of 25/1 for the 2015 Grand National. He remained behind the leaders for most of the way, however he took the lead 5 fences before the finish line and extended the lead to 3 lengths at the last fence. He won in the end by 1¾ length to become the second fastest winner in the race’s history with 8 minutes and 56.8 seconds.
