Day 1- National Hunt Chase
As the highlight of the first day, the National Hunt Chase is not only a good watch for spectators, but is probably the most lucrative race for punters looking for great odds. There is something special about the National Hunt Chase that makes it one of the most popular Cheltenham races. As one the oldest events of the festival in its 158th year, not a single horse has managed to win the race on more than one occasion. Day 2- Queen Mother Champion Chase
Day 2's main highlight is the Queen Mother Champion Chase and for the first time in many years, Altior is the one clear favourite even before the race starts. Thus far in his career, Altior has been virtually unbeatable. He scooped the top honours in all the races he participated in since 2014, including that in a National Hunt Flat Race at Market Rasen Racecourse where he won by fourteen lengths. Among some of Altior's impressive performances are the Celebration Chase, Arkle Challenge Trophy, Game Spirit Chase, Wayward Lad Novices' Chase, Henry VIII Novices' Chase, Supreme Novices Hurdle and the Sharp Novices Hurdle. Altior's quest for the Champion Chase will also be helped by the fact that the main challenger, Douvan, spent considerable time on the sidelines in 2017 and is just returning to full fitness. The reigning champion Special Tiara, however, has had some indifferent performances that saw her lose to Altior by eight lengths in the Celebration Chase.
Day 3- JLT Novices Chase
The first race for Day 3 at the 2018 Cheltenham Festival provides punters a good opportunity to win. From the competition, one horse stands apart which is Adrien du Point. Du Point's stats over the last 13 races is quite phenomenal, where he won five of those and finished in second position twice. He also finished in third position thrice. Now add to that an extended break (did not compete in the last 2 races of 2017) and a winning trainer Paul Nicholls, and Adrien du Point will certainly come refreshed, focused and raring to go.
Day 4- Grand Annual Chase
The Grand Annual Chase is the closing race of the Cheltenham Festival and often provides thrilling action. However, over the years punters have found the Grand Annual Chase a tough nut to crack when it comes to predictions as only two favourites since 2004 were able to win their races. However, the performance of one of the runners in this year's competition suggests 2018 might add a third favourite to win the Grand Annual Chase since 2004. Since winning the Scotty Brand Handicap Chase in April last year, Vaniteux was simply unbeatable. If Vaniteux continues his rich vein of form at the Festival, the probability of coming out tops will be very high.
