Options open for Cloudy Dream

Ruth Jefferson says Cloudy Dream will run in February, although the team have yet to confirm any races just yet.

Cloudy Dream has been in promising form so far this term, racking up three consecutive runner-up finishes at – on two separate occasions – and also .

The seven-year-old grey gelding, who last tasted success at the Jordan Electrics Ltd Future Champion Novices’ Chase at in April last year, is now being lined-up for a return to competitive action next month.

With the 2018 in March, the races leading into the coveted meeting will be crucial and Jefferson, daughter and assistant to trainer Malcolm, says there are options to where the team will go.

“He’s just had a little break to freshen up but he’ll be ready to run again in February,” she said. “There are a few options we are looking at, without wanting to pin anything down.

“I’m sure he’ll get three miles on good ground. It was very testing at Aintree that day he ran- as testing as it’s been there for a while. He’s got some Cheltenham () options over two and a half and three miles, so we’ll see how his next run goes.”
