Trainer Richard Hannon believes Wednesday‘s Juddmonte International Stakes is the ideal race for Barney Roy.
The three-year-old has impressed on his five outings so far, winning three and coming home second on the two other occasions.
Barney Roy will renew his rivalry with Ulysses, who won by a nose last time out in the Coral-Eclipse Group One at Sandown, and Hannon feels he can turn the tables on Wednesday.
Hannon believes the Juddmonte looks likely to be the perfect race for his charge and that Barney Roy will take some serious beating.
“It was a great run for a three-year-old at Sandown and it was such a shame to get beaten. Barney Roy is in great form at home and has done very well since the Eclipse. He heads there in fantastic order and the Juddmonte looks the ideal race for him,” Hannon said.
“The Eclipse form has been boosted by the victory of Eminent last Tuesday (in a Group Two at Deauville) and I think he will take all the beating at York.”
