Lacazar set for French test

Lacazar is likely to run in France following her win in Dusseldorf, according to trainer Peter Schiergen.

The three-year-old won her Group One race in Germany on Sunday, ahead of Charlie Appleby’s 11/10 favourite Wuheida who could only finish third.

Lacazar got ahead with one and a half furlongs remaining and held on to take the spoils in the German , and Schiergen is predicting his horse will run in the Prix de l’Opera at Chantilly on October 1.

“I’m not 100 per cent sure where she will run next but I’d imagine it will be a Group One,” he told PA . “I’ll have to speak to my owner. We had been considering a Group Two at Baden-Baden but that will probably change.”

“The Prix de l’Opera might be the best option for her. I wouldn’t have thought we’d be supplementing her for the Arc, it is very expensive to do that.”
