Eminent will run on ideal course conditions at Sandown in the Coral-Eclipse Stakes on July 8, according to trainer Martyn Meade.
The Frankel colt has performed admirably this season, with victory in the Craven Stakes on his debut before finishing sixth in the Qipco 2000 Guineas and fourth in the Investec Derby.
Eminent then looked in fine shape during a seven-furlong run at Newmarket on Wednesday, leaving Meade looking forward to pitching him into the Eclipse on a track which will suit him well.
“He worked very well and he’s on course to go to Sandown at week on Saturday. That’s the plan,” said Meade.
Eminent will again go up against Aidan O’Brien’s Cliffs Of Moher after their head-to-head at Epsom when the latter finished two paces and one length ahead at the line.
And Meade added: “We’ll try to make sure we beat him this time! I think it will be a different race to the Derby, that’s for certain. It’s the track that is going to suit us much better than Epsom.
“It’s a shorter distance, but I’m quite happy with him over one-mile-two. Hopefully they will go a good gallop there, which will also suit us.
“We’re looking forward to it. It’s all systems go for Sandown.”
