Connections of So Mi Dar insist they are in rush to plot the filly’s next move after she was ruled out of a run at Royal Ascot.
The John Gosden-trained horse made an impressive start to her career, as she won on her first four starts, but she has not been in action since finishing third in last October’s Prix de l’Opera at Chantilly.
The four-year-old had been due to return to action in last month’s Middleton Stakes at York, but the soft ground scuppered her chances, while she also missed the Brigadier Gerard at Sandown due to a muscle enzyme injury.
That problem has now healed although it has still been decided that next week’s run in Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot has come too soon for the bay filly.
Simon Marsh, racing manager for owner-breeders Lord and Lady Lloyd-Webber, said: “She’s fine in herself, but she had the muscle enzyme problem and it is just taking a little bit of time for her to get it completely out of her system.
“There is nothing wrong with her physically, but she’s missed a few bits of work and won’t be ready for Ascot, unfortunately.”
Marsh insists So Mi Dar will be back in action sooner rather than later, but he has refused to commit to an exact date for her return.
“She will be back, it’s just a question of when,” he added. “Having targeted the Prince of Wales, I don’t think we’ll be making any definite plans at this stage.”
