Jones will be in demand – Moffatt

Jockey Charlotte Jones will be in demand over the summer after her success at , according to trainer James Moffatt.

The rookie picked up her first victory as she guided Lough Kent home in the Wainwright Ale Conditional Jockeys? Handicap Hurdle.

Jones showed good resilience to get back in the saddle at Cartmel having been unseated at the same track days earlier when riding Bon Chic.

Moffatt is now hoping Jones can kick on from her maiden victory with further Cartmel events scheduled for June and and he expects she will be in demand over the summer.

“We’ve always thought that she is potentially a very good rider who just needs a chance,” Moffatt said.

“She’s got her first rung on the ladder now, and she will be in much demand over the summer. She’s a key part of our team.

“The ideal scenario would be that Charlotte rides Lough Kent next time (at Cartmel).”
